I am not going to lie - I am huge fan of Scandinavian knitwear design as it combines effortlessly simple elegance and timelessness. But I tried my best to diversify this small Top 5 list to reflect creative divinity from outside of Northern Europe too.
Aegyo Knit (Denmark)
This mother daughter duo combines South Korean fashion with Scandinavian minimalism and turns it into one of a kind sophisticated knits. The name is pronounced egg-yo, standing for appearing irresistible or extra cute, and is perfectly representing the feminine and playful nature of their designs. I am a huge fan of their "minimalistic, meticulous oversized silhouettes".
2. Petite Knit (Denmark)
As soon as you start knitting and had a glimpse of what knitting looks like in the social media world, you must have come across Petite Knit. This amazing one woman business is the result of Mette’s creative mind. She creates beautiful Scandi everyday designs in an impressive output high speed. Her designs are made for all family members, and her brand is including notions and accessories too.
3. Summer Lee Design Co (USA)
This US based and self-claimed sock knitting addict has a special place in my heart. If you follow Summer on Instagram you will explore the same colourful and cheerful personality that you will find in her sock patterns. Her designs are a great mix of colour work and textures. Even though I am not truly a convinced sock knitter, she definitely inspired me not to quit it yet.
4. Kutovakika (Finland)
Kika’s positivity is addictive and so are her designs. This designer from Finland has gained massive popularity with her knitted wedding dress that she has designed and knitted herself. Her designs are playful combinations of simplicity meets detail delicacy. Simply have a look at her Arctic Light sweater and you will understand.
5. Ullenknitwear
Ullen is an emerging designer, cherishing modern design with a slow-fashion manner. Her design approach is minimalistic, soft and long lasting. That screams coziness in potency and her lounge wear set is the perfect expression of that feeling.
